Using Dragon NaturallySpeaking with Microsoft
Word XP (2002)
| Products: Dragon NaturallySpeaking
5, 6 |
Problem:
When using Dragon NaturallySpeaking with Microsoft Word XP, you may
receive problems with speech recognition such as Select-and-Say failing,
printing words twice and poor recognition. This can be caused by Microsoft
Word XP's built in speech recognition.
Solution:
Note: You must first disable Microsoft Office XP's built in
speech recognition. If it is not disabled, it will continue to disable
Dragon NaturallySpeaking's Word add-in "dgnword.dll".
Please follow these steps to re-enable dgnword.dll for use with Microsoft
Word XP:
- Launch Microsoft Word XP.
- Click on the Help menu and choose "About Microsoft Word XP".
- Click the "Disabled Items" button.
- Check to see if dgnword.dll is in the list.
- If dgnword.dll is in the list, highlight it and click the "Enable"
button.
- If dgnword.dll appears more than once, do this for every instance.
